Single Quality Culture | Juscom INC

Juscom puts our corporate culture first and foremost. We’re focused on continuous improvement, understanding that we aren’t there yet and must never think we are. In order to avoid deception from our mission, we believe in and implement W. Edwards Deming’s 14 points for total quality management:

  1. Create constancy of purpose for improving products and services.
  2. Adopt the new philosophy.
  3. Cease dependence on inspection to achieve quality.
  4. End the practice of awarding business on price alone; instead, minimize total cost by working with a single supplier.
  5. Improve constantly and forever process for planning, production and service.
  6. Institute training on the job.
  7. Adopt and institute leadership.
  8. Drive our fear so that everyone may work effectively for the company.
  9. Break down barriers.
  10. Eliminate slogans, exhortation and targets for the workforce.
  11. Eliminate numerical quotas for the workforce and numerical goals for management.
  12. Remove barriers that rob people of pride of workmanship, and eliminate the annual rating or merit system.
  13. Institute a vigorous program of education and self-improvement for everyone.
  14. Put everybody in the company to work accomplishing the transformation.

How might you recognize that Juscom follows Dr. Deming’s philosophy? There are multiple indicators of our single quality culture:

  • We are non-hierarchical. There are no private offices at Juscom. Our open-plan work areas discourage the notion of rank and privilege.

  • We believe in workmanship above ratings. We do not have a formalized annual rating or merit system.

  • We strive for continuous improvement. We use on-the-job training supplemented with videos as needed.

  • We support open dialogue. We encourage all staff to speak their minds on any topic; managers and leaders take care to practice “Management By Walking Around” (MBWA); to approach individuals on a one-to-one basis to solicit opinions and ideas.

  • We encourage collaboration. Wikis and threaded discussion systems are used extensively to track and share information. Anybody may participate by adding, modifying, and deleting information, messages threads, and pages.
